Fits the bill for what I wanted. Got the screaming yellow color. The color is very similar to the neon green/yellow you see on worker safety clothing. This color can be a bit much but I am wearing it to be visible. The styling is good on the Elite Barrier vest which helps, even with the "pop" color because some of those other cheap safety vests tend to look kind of sad sack and also flap around alot in the wind. If you wear the vest with blue it looks better. You wont overheat with this vest because of venting and being lightweight. It's a little ironic that they call this vest water resistant when it has a mesh panel on the neck and shoulders. Which I'm glad is there for BTW for venting. When raining you have to wear a waterproof layer of some sort underneath and the PI vest on top for visibility and being water resistant helps when it's wet out of course in that case. There is a slight drawback when you layer underneath if you have a zipper. The straight zip layer underneath and the slightly to the side zip on the vest get in the way of each other and you will find yourself lowering the vest zip and keeping the underneath layer straight zip up higher. UPDATE: One more minus I just realized is that the only pocket on the vest in the back has a less than adequate closure. Seems like they cut corners and just slapped on a tiny velcro piece to close a big pocket. It would of been easy to put in a zipper. Not worried about some things I put in the pocket, but if it's your wallet or keys that's another story. I don't know not a dealbreaker for me to return it , maybe I'll try to put more velcro on it so it seals better.First things first...do not purchase this item at full price ($80.00). I got it on Amazon for $36.00 and that is about what it is worth. Now by worth I do not mean to say it does not work, it does. But it is essentially nothing more than a single layer windbreaker of nylon, no reason for the $80.00 price tag. Now, I love this vest! It does exactly what I wanted/needed it for. I use it for those cool mornings when I just need a little extra until the temps start to rise. It is very light weight and packable. No mountains where I live but would be a great item to have on hand for those chilly descents after a good climb. Fit is great as its snug enough but not form fitting and not too loose where it flaps annoyingly as you ride.No complaints on the performance side...just don't pay full price.Surprisingly effective. I like this for temps around 60F over a short-sleeve riding jersey, around 50F with a long-sleeve jersey. Makes the difference between cold and comfortable. I ride along the Atlantic coast where temps can vary by 10 degrees over a couple of miles, based on wind direction, and this helps quite a bit in dealing with that. This vest has a very tight-weave coated fabric on the front that feels water repellant and there's a rubberized storm-flap behind the zipper. The back has a large mesh area and a medium sized pocket that can be used to pack the vest into, which easily fits a phone and snacks. With the zipper all the way up, wind is sealed out. But lowering the zipper creates good flow out through the rear mesh.Fit is just right for me: standard Pearl Izumi medium, with just enough looseness to add a couple of thin layers under it if needed.I bought this for days where it is cool early on, but where you might want to remove this windbreaker later. I have the same model jacket in the sleeved version as well. This one packs smaller. I use the other one on colder days, when I anticipate that I will not be removing it. For some reason the sleeved jacket fits slightly better. This one has a tendency to ride up a bit. Also, I prefer the collar material to be dark, rather than white, as to not show every bit of dirt so quickly. I am 6' 160-165lbs. I own the medium sized one.Three and half *'sPros: Lightweight, somewhat breathable, dries quickly, long back. Size is smack on but tad on the smallish side. Fit is snug and I was expecting a vest with a little more play under the armpit area but overall good fit.Cons: Not enough pockets; the rear is 6 inches wide with a single 1 inch velcro strip as the fastener, no zipper. This pocket is good for a wallet, cell, and a small snack. Forget trying to get a water bottle in there as it just won't accommodate anything but a small hand thru the opening. Wish for side slanted pockets and one inside too. Not much of a windbreaker as I ride early mornings along the CA coastline, sometimes in light fog, and can feel the chill on my chest. Not worth the $$ charged on Amazon as I see these as $25 vest tops.Outstanding value. Even on 35F days it helps keep me warm enough with a light riding jacket and polypro top with a long-sleeve riding jersey. The best part is that after you get cranking and warm up, it rolls up to a very small volume and fits in your pannier or pocket or daypack easily. The only thing is that I saw a used one on line for half the price and did not get it because it looked wrinkled. Dumb, of course it is going to look wrinkled. I love my wrinkled vest, and buyers should consider used ones too if they want to save a few bucks. And no, I'm not selling mine. I am still riding with my Descent biking jacket I got in 1986 and I expect this vest to half an equally happy life.Pearl Izumi products almost always fits me well and this one fits, almost. The bottom just needs to have a couple of inches of more stretch so I can lift it with ease to access my jersey pockets. Also the vest wrinkles very easily after washing. I've only worn and washed it four times so I don't know how well it will wear. It's has been unusually warm since I received the vest.i don't use it very often (minus one star) but it does have a niche use for windy days between 50-60 degree weather when i start off the ride at mid-day and the temp drops off in the afternoon then i can take this out of my pock it throw on this vest and have a VERY COMFORTABLE END OF MY RIDEArrived today, looks and feels quality. Not used yet but as I found the sizing comments helpful so wanted to add my own thoughts. I am 5'10", 13stone 5lbs, 37 waist, medium build. The XL is a great fit for me. Is good over 1 or 2 layers. It is not a close fit over a T shirt and will be very slightly "flappy" but unless you are mad keen to have racey road bike tightness I think this size will suit a lot of people. The Gilet fits well, and is very lite. wind proof but does not flap. It is a tight fit but alows good movment. The high vis yellow is great as a large proportion of car drivers are visualy impared. It is not warm by any means and so I am hoping if we get a summer it will be good for the early morning rides.
