i use these a lot. more than any of my other tights for cycling with my favorite chamois shorts underneath. i usually wash them once every 2-3 rides on colder days. they are good for 30-50 degree weather. good for 30 degree weather if no wind. good for 50 degree weather if it is very windy.buy yourself a variety of warmth and layer when you can. it just takes experience and practice with your gear to learn what you need for what conditions. These are a nice pair of thermal bibs but there is NO chamois layer! Also, the wind resistant cloth panels on the knee/shin area can chafe a little bit. Otherwise, it keeps my lower body warm down to 35 degrees F outside.Be aware that you will still need to wear a Chamois under this guy, as it doesn't come with one. I didn't know that, but just wore a pair of chamois shorts under it.I was warm on a 40 degree day, and was comfortable and dry. These are getting a lot of use these days. They do what they say, they cut the wind and keep my legs perfect in the recommended 35-45 F range...I have had them on in colder temps also and still seemed to hold up well! I also prefer the no chamois so I can use the one I want and dont have to worry about washing these everytime I ride. It's OK, one issue, it does not cut the wind very well on my lower legs, it's a great fit, not recommended for long rides because it does not come with rear paddingsmall rip in crotch seam, and AMAZINGLY tight shin zippers. Other than that, I can comfortably ride down to the mid 30's. Cooler than that, and I need an outer shell.Great bib. Keeps you warm, and you do not have to worry about your padded shorts slipping down. First bib I have ever used, but I love them now.Pearl Izumi makes quality biking wear and is true to size. Very pleased with the purchase which was delivered in time for ChristmasI love these but for all would be buyers :-) as an older rider, get the size smaller :-), I purchased an XL thinking the bibs would be like the tops :-) but I found that I have a lot of play in these as XL and I mean a lot, but the quality is top notch.I went for a smaller size than the size guide said I required ,it's still a little big.next time I will have two sizes smaller.
